SWYC Translations

The SWYC has been translated into Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian, Korean, Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Chuuksee, Khmer, Burmese, Nepali, Haitian-Creole, Vietnamese, Samoan, Somali, Arabic, Tagalog and Bengali.

Translations

Arabic SWYC

The Arabic SWYC forms were prepared by the TEAMUP for Children Initiative, with funding from the Smith Family Foundation. The forms were reviewed and edited by Dr. Amel Alawami.

Burmese SWYC

A professional translation service was used to translate the SWYC into Burmese, which was facilitated by the TEAM UP for Children Initiative at Boston Medical Center, with funding from the Smith Family Foundation. Once the forward translation was completed, the translation was revised by two additional, independent translators.

Chinese SWYC

The Chinese SWYC forms were translated by a team at The Shenzhen Institute of Mental and Psychological Measurement Technology. Key contributors included Mary Wu. Chinese (Traditional) SWYC

The French, Korean, Traditional Chinese, Russian, and Bengali SWYC translations were facilitated by NYU Health and Hospitals. The English files translated by CQ Fluency, a contracted translation vendor. The translations, alongside the English files, were then reviewed by a second contracted translation vendor, Birch Language Solutions (BLS). Attached is the Certificate of Accuracy from BLS, for reference. Please note that these translations correspond to the SWYC version 1.08.

Chuuksee SWYC

French SWYC

Portuguese SWYC

The Portuguese SWYC forms were originally translated from English version 1.00 by two Brazilian public universities, the Federal Universities from Minas Gerais (UFMG) and Santa Catarina (UFSC). Key contributors from UFMG include Claudia Regina Lindgren Alves, Livia de Castro Magalhães and Claudia Machado. Key contributors from UFSC include Rafaela Silva Moreira.
 
The most recent version of the forms correspond to English version 1.07 and were updated with the help of Claudia Regina Lindgren Alves.

Somali SWYC
Bilingual Somali-English Age Specific SWYC Forms

The Somali translation process was based on the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia PolicyLab's guidelines "Translating Standardized Pediatric Questionnaires: A Simple Tool for Providers" and "Translations of the Survey of Well-being of Young Children and the Modified Checklist for Autism Burmese and Nepali" both developed from processes of the World Health Organization (WHO) and US Department of Health and Human Services' Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (ARHQ). Dr. Katherine Yun served as an advisor for this project.

Spanish SWYC

The Spanish SWYC forms were translated through a collaboration between Tufts Medical Center and The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Key CHOP contributors included Marsha Gerdes, Victoria Novoa Uriarte, Ximena Cuellar, Zoe Feingold, Erica Just, and Jennifer Culhane.

Vietnamese SWYC
Bilingual Vietnamese-English Age Specific SWYC Forms

The modules for 36,48, and 60 months were translated by an outside company. All other ages were completed by health center interpreters who are native Vietnamese speakers and certified medical interpreters. One interpreter provided the initial translation and a second interpreter reviewed the translation and resolved discrepancies.
