A new, three-year NIH grant will expand Dr. Elizabeth Yen's research and initial pilot study findings about the effects of prenatal opioid exposure in an infant's first year of life.

MIRI researchers are now able to identify genes affecting abnormal feeding habits in newborns who were prenatally exposed to opioids.

Lowell General Hospital was recently named one of the nation’s top Maternity Hospitals for 2020 by Newsweek magazine and the Leapfrog Group. We are one of just seven hospitals in Massachusetts to make this list. A total of 231 hospitals in 36 states were named.
