This program is open to all applicants, with current staff working at Circle Health / Lowell General Hospital or nursing students completing their Senior Capstone at Lowell General Hospital having a preference in applying. Applicants may have either a BSN or ASN with intent to pursue a BSN and have an interest in pursuing a residency program in an acute care setting.
To be considered for the Lowell General Hospital New Graduate RN Residency Program, you must complete an application during the designated application period. Please attach your resume and a cover letter, as well as indicate your top three units of interest. For Capstone applicants, a letter of recommendation from your Lowell General preceptor must be included with your application.
Residents are placed in many of our workplace settings throughout the hospital on both campuses including:
- Medical Surgical Units
- Step Down Units
- Emergency Departments
- Mother Infant Unit
- Pediatrics
- Labor and Delivery
- ICU
Timeline
The program currently starts three times a year in March, August, and October. It runs over a 12-month period.
Qualifications
- Graduating from an accredited nursing program with a BSN or ASN
- Valid Massachusetts RN license at the start of the program
- Must be willing to make a two-year commitment to remain with Lowell General Hospital upon completion of the program
