Tufts Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) provides support for clinical studies and trials through its Clinical and Translational Research Center (CTRC). Formerly known as the General Clinical Research Center, it has been in continuous operation since 1961.
Overview
The CTRC supports federally funded, investigator-initiated, industry-sponsored, high-quality, innovative clinical research across Tufts CTSI partner institutions.
This includes services available 24/7, at inpatient and outpatient facilities at Tufts Medical Center and across other care locations as a “center without walls.”
The CTRC provides researchers with the infrastructure to conduct a wide range of state-of-the-art clinical trials in neonatal, pediatric and adult geriatric research participants in the outpatient or inpatient setting, and offers resources to facilitate clinical research for studying the causes and progression of human disease and for translation of biomedical research to prevent, treat or cure disease.
The CTRC supports every aspect of a clinical study, including:
- Regulatory and coordination support
- Data collection
- Routine and specialized nursing
- Sample collection
- Processing
- Short-term and long-term storage and shipment.
For more information, please visit the CTRC services and facilities page.
Investigators who are applying to request external or internal funding (e.g., NIH) for a study that will be conducted, at least in part, at the CTRC should complete a service request as soon as possible so we can assist with customized study-specific documents for the resources/environment and budget sections of the application.
Participant information for clinical trials is available.
