About

The Tufts Medical Center Cost-Effectiveness Analysis Registry describes more than 20,000 standardized cost-effectiveness ratios published since 1976 in peer-reviewed literature. By cataloging studies that estimate costs and health benefits for a wide range of interventions, the registry helps to identify promising opportunities to better invest in the nation’s healthcare resources.

The Tufts Medical Center Medicare National Coverage Determinations (NCD) Database, launched in 2003, describes 191 decisions made by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services since 1999. Medicare issues 10 to 15 of these decisions each year for technologies projected to have a major program impact. The contents of the NCD Database shed light on factors that influence decisions to grant coverage. Findings from this database have achieved national recognition.

The Specialty Drug Evidence and Coverage Database provides unique insights into commercial payer coverage of specialty drugs and the evidence base that payers report reviewing when formulating their decisions. CEVR researchers have quantified payer behavior by translating thousands of publicly available specialty drug coverage decisions into structured, analysis-ready data, including: coverage decisions issued by 17 of the largest commercial payers for more than 200 specialty drugs from over 100 companies and covering a wide range of diseases including cancer, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis and rare diseases.
