They are mandated by the Residency Review Committee for Obstetrics and Gynecology, and designed to give guidelines for learning expectations for each rotation. These guidelines are to be used in tandem with the CREOG Educational Objectives, which contain the required objectives for completion by all residents of an accredited program. Achieving the educational objectives occurs through a combination of clinical experiences, scholastic conferences, the didactic program, reading and simulation.

The educational objectives for the Tufts MC OB/GYN residency program are broken down by year and rotation.

Rotations in years 1 and 4 are at Tufts Medical Center. Interns are paired with chief residents for each rotation. Years 2 and 3 primarily take place at our community hospital partners, with fewer rotations at Tufts. Starting in your PGY 2 year, you will have a continuity clinic either at Cambridge Health Alliance, MetroWest Medical Center, Neponset Health Clinic or at Tufts Medical Center. Additional continuity clinic experience occurs during your General Gynecology Rotation as a PGY 1 and while rotating at Southern New Hampshire Hospital. You will be able to make your own decision in regards to the location of your continuity clinic (the decision is made among your cohort) so as to individualize your learning experience according to your professional goals.

Even though you will put in long hours, you will have time for play! Boston has a lot of history and you are encouraged to enjoy all aspects, from the public garden, to the freedom trail to the majestic theaters for shows. There are many places to shop, hike, run, eat and drink. Because our hospital is in Chinatown, residents love to explore the local cuisine!

The Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Tufts Medical Center is committed to your education, well-being and professional development.
